Teen Leadership Program

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program

This summer our teen leadership program will only consist of our counselor-in-training (CIT) program. CITs will live in a cabin of up to 16 campers and 2 staff members. This program serves to provide counselor training and experience for youth ages 15-18. CITs will meet throughout the week to learn more about interacting with campers and serving as a counselor. They will get to practice what they've learned by leading activities, providing support to campers, leading devotions, and more. The goal of the program is to teach important skills participants can use in a variety of situations.

We expect that our CITs will:
- Approach the program with a ready-to-learn attitude
- Treat everyone at camp with respect
- Come to camp ready to serve
- Have an open mind toward information and others and listen actively
- Fully participate in the program and aim to make the most of it
- Look for opportunities to go above and beyond what’s asked
- Lean on their faith and strive to grow it
- Be open and honest in communicating their needs/wants
- Hold fellow CITs and staff members accountable
- Follow all camp and program rules
- Serve as incredible role models to our campers

There is a $75 fee per week, but if you need financial assistance, reach out to our director at sam@campweed.org. Participants will receive 30 hours of community service for each week they serve as a CIT.

It is not a requirement that CITs attend Senior Session as a camper, but it is highly encouraged.

Applications can be found at the link below and are due May 1. One reference form is also required to be submitted for each applicant. The link for that form can be found below as well and are due May 8.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or just want to talk more about being a CIT this summer, contact Summer Camp Director Sam Marxsen at sam@campweed.org or at 386-364-5250.
