Faith and Worship

Grow your faith at camp!

Community Faith

The goal of a faith centered camp is to create a loving, Christian community who rely on each other through prayer and support to make the most out of the camp experience. The goals of our religious programming and community faith are as follows:

  • To ensure that each camper knows that they are loved by God and our community

  • To give each camper tools to help them grow in their faith at home

  • To create a sense of Christian Community at camp

  • To ensure that all religious activities are age appropriate and are centered around topics relatable to that age group

Deans Program

Deans program is our period of Christian formation each day. This is the primary time for campers to grow in their faith. It’s informative and substantial, but should also be fun and entertaining. The goal is to create a memorable program that allows campers to grow in their relationship with God and each other in a community setting, while also giving them the tools to continue doing so once they return home.

Each week we have two deans to run this Christian formation program. Generally they are a youth leader and a clergy member from within the diocese. We greatly appreciate them for volunteering with us and for taking time out of their normal duties to spend a week at camp!

Morning and Evening Worship

In the morning and evening, all of camp gathers together to start and end the day with a reflective time of worship. As a part of our teen leadership program, our counselors in training lead songs, energizers, and share a short message for morning worship. Staff members take turns leading prayers from the Book of Common Prayer and sharing a short message during evening worship. This time serves as a way for campers to hear their counselors and counselors in training talk about their own faith and the experiences they have had.

Cabin Devotions

Each night after campers return to their cabins to get ready for bed, counselors will lead a devotion with their cabin. This serves as a time for campers to get to know their cabin mates and their counselors a little bit better, and to have a smaller group discussion and activity centered around faith.

Prayer Night

Once a week, one of our evening all camps is called Prayer Night. This is designed by our Worship Director and is intended to give campers the individual opportunity to explore their faith and come back together to reflect and pray as a community.
