A plan for wetlands and lake restoration, White Lake at the Camp & Conference Center.
To provide recreational opportunities for our children, restore the wild beauty of the site and enhance the habitat for north Florida's rich aquatic life. The project has five steps and is now in full operation.
The project has five steps:
- STEP ONE - Receive 450,000 gallons per day for 20 years of reclaimed water from City of Live Oak.
- STEP TWO - The reclaimed water will be deposited into a basin at an upland location away from the lake. (Our contribution toward cost of basin and piping $100,000)
- STEP THREE - Allow reclaimed water to naturally percolate through soil to recharge Floridian Aquifer. Reclaimed water will not be put into the lake.
- STEP FOUR - Install water well and pump the equivalent of 90% of the volume deposited into the upland pond. (Cost $50,000)
- STEP FIVE - Replace the bridge and create a "lagoon" to receive the water from the well. This lagoon will be located in the vicinity of Mandi's Chapel. Once the "lagoon" fills it will overflow into the lake. (Cost $150.000)
- TOTAL COST $300,000 Thanks to generous contributors this project is fully funded and is now in full operation.
