Staff FAQs

Still have questions? Check out some of these staff FAQs or email

What if I'm not Episcopalian?

That's totally fine! We hire staff members of all denominations.

Where is Live Oak?

Interstates 10 and 75 intersect right about Live Oak! Camp seems like it's in the middle of nowhere, but it's actually fairly close to some pretty cool things. Lake City, with tons of restaurants and stores, is just 20 minutes away. We're about an hour and a half from the beach, and we're surrounded by some incredible natural springs.

Can I work out?

Absolutely! You're free to wake up early and run or swim at camp. If you'd like to go to the gym daily, our camp director may be able to make arrangements.

Where will I live?

Staff will live in air-conditioned cabins. Counseling staff will live in a cabin with around 15 campers, one counselor-in-training (CIT), and one co-counselor. Program staff will live in our staff cabin with leaders-in-training (LITs) and other program staff. All caibns have built-in bathrooms.

Will I need to speak about my faith?

Counseling staff will lead one devotion per day with their cabin. We'll provide you resources for these devotions and go over ideas at staff training. Aside from our worship coordinator, program staff are not scheduled to lead devotion, but any staff member may be asked to step in at any time.

Can I do schoolwork while I'm at camp?

You'll have breaks and internet access, so it's not impossible. However, scheduled tests and a large load may make this more difficult to work out. Contact our camp director if you have specific questions.

I see there's a week break between sessions. Can I stay at camp?

As a general rule, we don't provide housing during our longer break. If you're interested and need accomodations during this period, reach out to our camp director.
