Getting Here

Packing for Camp

It’s almost time for camp, and you’re ready to pack! What do you throw in your suitcase? Speaking of that, what do you pack in? We’re here to provide more information into the packing process.

Campers pack in a variety of different ways, and our best advice is to pack in what’s best for you. Many campers use trunks, large plastic containers, or sets of plastic drawers, but any way you decide to get your campers things to camp is fine!

When you’re deciding what to actually pack for camp, think comfortable! Campers run around the majority of the day, and they sometimes get messy. It’s a great idea to pack well-loved clothes so there’s no pressure for your campers to keep their clothes clean. In addition to comfortable, think modest. Clothes that are even the slightest bit revealing can reveal a lot more than intended with all the running and playing we do at camp!

Our last tip for packing is to label everything you pack! With 14 campers in a cabin and 120 across camp, it’s easy for things to get lost or mixed up. If everything you send is labeled, there’s a better chance it will all get back to you at the end of the week. Writing your name on things is fine, or you can consider easy stick on labels like those from IdentaMe.

What Not To Bring

To keep camp safe and enjoyable for everyone, we’ve compiled a short list of things that are better off left at home. These things include:

  • Cell phones and electronics.

  • Weapons or fireworks.

  • Alcohol or illegal drugs.

  • Nuts (including snacks with nuts in them).

  • Items of value.
