On-Site Activities

Kayaking/Canoeing on White Lake

  • For a fee of $25/day, you can rent a paddle and a life jacket in the conference center office and spend the day on White Lake. Swimming is not permitted. Please stay in your canoe or kayak.

 

Fishing on White Lake (catch-and-release only)

  • Please bring your own equipment and respect the space of other groups.

 

Nature Walks

  • Close toed shoes and bug spray are recommended. Please be respectful of other groups and the Guest Covenant by maintaining appropriate distance if you pass other groups on the trail.

 

Hernando de Soto Historic Trail Site

  • Take a walk and explore one of the stops that Hernando de Soto made on his expedition through the Florida Native American Territories in his quest for gold and glory. Search for old arrow heads and pottery pieces in the sand, or enjoy a picnic at the hut. Maps and more information can be found in the conference center office.

 

Off-Site Recreation

 

Get out and explore "Old Florida", visit our bike trails, wilderness trails and state parks.  Canoe, kayak and boat in our rivers and springs. Discover cave diving, music festivals, nature, heritage, art, quilts, antiques and more. Check out the links at the bottom of the page for even more information.

Peacock Springs

  • Peacock Springs has one of the longest underwater cave systems in the continental U.S. Amenities include scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, fishing, picnic area, restrooms, parking.

 

Little River Springs 

  • The cave system is more than 1,200 feet long. The pool area is 100 feet wide and 8 feet deep and the run is approximately 150 feet long. Amenities include beach areas, paved parking, overlooks, picnic areas with grills, walking trails and portable restrooms.

 

 Suwannee Country Club

  • Amenities include new EZ-GO golf carts, driving range and putting green, banquet room and kitchen for members and rentals, deck overlooking White Lake and a beautiful, challenging golf course.

 

 Royal Springs

  • The pool area is 200 feet wide and 42 feet deep and there is exposed limestone around the pool area. Amenities include a boat ramp, picnic tables with grills, diving platform, overlooks, portable restrooms, and a few short waterfalls depending on river height.

 

Charles Springs

  • There is a natural limestone bridge in the pool area. Amenities include a boat ramp, walking trails, picnic table with a grill, paved parking, stairs, portable restrooms, swimming, canoeing.

 

 Suwannee Canoe Outpost

  • The Suwannee Canoe Outpost is the original premier canoe outfitter on the Suwannee River. Take a few hours to paddle down the Suwannee and enjoy the white sand beaches as well as a plethora of flora and fauna. Many trips of various length are offered, and you can even just rent a kayak and paddle on your own.

 

Suwannee River State Park

  • Amenities include a full facility campground and cabins, playground, boat ramp, and campfire circles. Activites include bicycling, boating, camping, fishing, picnicking, birding, canoeing and hiking the five trails.

 

Suwannee River Canoe Rental

  • Enjoy a relaxing paddle down Florida’s historic Suwannee River. Suwannee River Canoe Rental is located 1 mile east of Suwannee River State Park and they rent canoes and kayaks.  The shuttle is included in your rental fee. Canoe/kayak trips conclude at Suwannee River State Park.

 

Falling Creek Falls

  • A boardwalk trail at Falling Creek Falls north of Lake City leads you to overlooks on a waterfall with a twelve-foot drop in a picturesque settings.

 

Ichetucknee Springs

  • Fed by nine springs, the Ichetucknee River lets visitors experience the natural beauty of its blue-green waterways year-round. Let the gentle current of the bright turquoise river guide you on a relaxing retreat through shaded hammocks and forests of cypress, maple, oak and pine.

 

Stephen Foster Folk Culture State Park

  • Situated on the banks of the legendary Suwannee River, this center honors the memory of American composer Stephen Foster, who wrote "Old Folks at Home," the song that made the river famous. Visit the museums, hike trails, visit the gift shop, kayak, bike, and observe wildlife.

 

Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park
